Why do we need to verify your age?
At casillascigarsonline.com, our commitment is to sell Tobacco products and accessories only to customers that are 21 years of age or older. This is in compliance with Federal, State, and Local law. How does Age Verification work?
We use an industry respected, 3rd party company, AgeChecker.Net, to verify that you are who you say you are and to assure that you are of minimum age to purchase tobacco products. Per the FDA’s minimum age requirement for tobacco purchase, your age will be verified to confirm your name, date of birth and address exactly as it appears on your government issued ID.
Step 1: When a customer is ready to place their order, the AGECHECKER.NET popup will appear and explain the verification process and why it is required. Our service usually takes under a minute to complete.
Step 2: Next, the customer is asked for their date of birth and their personal information if we don't already know it. AGECHECKER.NET can automatically pull the customer's name and address from your checkout page so they don't have to enter it again. We disable some of the checkout fields on our website to prevent the customer from changing their name or address after being verified with a different identity.
Step 3: The information submitted by the customer is processed by AGECHECKER.NET service and checked against millions of documents consisting of public records, credit information, and other sources. For over 90% of the US population, AGECHECKER.NET can automatically approve them with just this information. If AGECHECKER.NET determine that the information submitted is fraudulent or it was not found in their databases, AGECHECKER.NET will ask the customer to submit a photo ID.
Step 4: If AGECHECKER.NET request a photo ID, they will give the customer a few options to upload a picture of their ID with their name and date of birth clearly visible. A picture can be taken directly from our popup if the user has a webcam and a supported browser, or they can upload a picture from a file. If they are on a mobile device, they are directed to their camera app to take a picture. Customers using a computer can also request a link to be sent to their phone, allowing them to take a picture with their phone and then continue the process on their computer. Once a picture is submitted, AGECHECKER.NET will verify it in around 10 to 20 seconds.
Step 5: Once a user is verified, they can complete their purchase with one more click. If they submitted a photo ID, AGECHECKER.NET will remember them so they never have to submit a photo ID again. If the customer was not verified successfully, AGECHECKER.NET give them a chance to fix their picture and try again if it was blurry or unreadable. If AGECHECKER.NET determine that they are underage, AGECHECKER.NET can disable their access to our service.
How is your information secured?
The information you provide is used purely to verify your age. We never share or sell data to third-parties. Your privacy and security are important to us. Access to all our services are protected with strong 256-bit AES encryption. All personal information is stored on a private internal network that is not connected to the internet. We will store your DOB, name, and address so that we can verify you without photo ID if you order again. Photo IDs are not stored, they are removed as soon as you are verified.
How long does verification take?
AGECHECKER.NET can verify about 90% of U.S. customers instantly using basic personal information. If you cannot be verified automatically, you must submit a picture of your photo ID to be manually verified. This process is easy and takes place within our popup. Once submitted, it will take around 10 seconds to verify you, depending on the number of requests in our queue. You may cover other sensitive information, just make sure that we can clearly see your name, date of birth, expiration and enough of the ID to verify that it is real.
